New Year
I must say I feel bad that I have been so bad about blogging. I started last year and I just quit. It is mainly because we moved the computer downstairs with the office for to make room for my son. (We don't have a laptop). And it's almost impossible to get down there. I am making it my New Year's resolution to definitely try to work on doing better. I really have a lot to talk about. Just not the time to type it on the Blackberry. That make take a while. So here's to a new year and to doing much better!!!

Part II The Den
The next part of our remodel was the den. When my in laws lived here they added an addition themselves to the original house. So the space was already in this part of the house. We painted the entire room. Put down new carpet, changed the ceiling fans, changed the hardware, and put in canned lights.

My husband and I got married in 2004 and we built our house at the same time that we were planning our wedding. This is our old house. So we sold it in 2007 and bought a older house so he would have an office to work out of (beside the house) and we remodeled (well gut) the older house and made it our own.
PART I
In this house it had a smaller kitchen so we tore out a wall that separated the kitchen from the dining room and made it all into the kitchen. We put down new hardwoods, custom cabinets, granite countertops, all new hardware, canned lights, and all new appliances. There is nothing original left from the old kitchen but the frame. This is the before and after.
Since we tore down the original wall separating the kitchen from the dining room we decided to move the dining room over to the front of the house wher the formal "living room" used to be. We knew we had a very large den and a formal living room would not be used. We created a cased opening to separate the kitchen from the dining room and put columns into the dining room and also remodeled the foyer. We had the hardwoods refinished, had plantation shutters put all along the front of the house, painted this room as well as the kitchen, changed all the hardware, changed the front door, and changed all the lighting.
So I have finally decided to dedicate some time (after some gentle nudging from a good friend) to write about some things that interest me in my life. When my first son was born almost three years ago, I decided I would start scrapbooking so he would have something to look back on when he was older and it looked like something fun for me to do. I have kept up with it and I do a page for him every month. He now has 2 full albums and over 30 pages. I just started with my second son and he has 5 pages now. He will catch up quick. My oldest loves to pull the albums down and look through them and point out who is in what picture and what we are doing. They are great to look back at and it makes you realize how fast they grow up, even month to month.
Well I am totally new to this blogging and although I have tons of stuff floating around in my head, I don't even know where to start. I am a mother, a wife, a daughter, a maid, a chauffeur, and the list goes on. I have two beautiful boys a great husband a wonderful family and many things to be thankful for. I have been fighting off a bug that my dear husband passed on to my oldest and it had now made it's way to me today. So I feel a little sleepy and lazy. Not a good combination. I have too much to do. I did have something rather interesting happen this morning. I was sitting in the living room watching the exciting Little Bear make his way through the forest when the light from above my kitchen table decided to fall down onto my favorite piece of pottery and make a earth shattering crash and all of it went into a gizillion little pieces. I thought someone had broken a window. That will wake you up at 8:30 in the morning.Thank goodness no one was sitting there eating a meal. Other than that we have watched way tooooo much Noggin today and now everyone is napping but the one who needs it, ME! Because I can't breathe. Well I believe I will think about what I need to write in the future and try to do some laundry.
